What if this was it? Right here, right now. What if this was all that was?
What if there was no future? What if there was no past? What if right now, in this moment is all there is?
What if you had no life story? Or, what if your life story was a fiction and tomorrow you realized you were an actress playing a role in a movie? What if you could walk off the stage of your life circumstances? Would all the things that seem so important matter as much? Would all your problems seem as dire as they may? Would all your thinking about what is and what isn’t happening to you become less painful?
What if your thinking wasn’t you?
What if right here, right now, this moment, this space, this right now, right here, what if that was all there is?
Would there be freedom? Would there be emptiness? And does that emptiness come from the loss of identity for who you think you need to be to become “a success” in the future? Or does the emptiness come from feeling true nothingness, presence, the serenity of the moment? And are you just out of practice in presence?
Be in the aliveness of this moment, and then the next, and then the next, and the next… and…
Because has life ever stopped, when you’ve stopped thinking about it?
Or, doesn’t it become richer, more meaningful in the moment, more vibrant, colorful, and wondrous without the thought?
These are questions, not to be answered in your mind, but to be present with, to be felt. Read them again as questions to be with rather than questions to answer with thoughts. Notice the thoughts in your mind that want to add to what is.
